ESPN.com, Boston.com, et al are reporting that Wide Receiver and former Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for Seattle's 1st round draft pick in 2007. Branch had been a holdout through all of Patriots training camp, up until and including yesterday's 19-17 victory.
While the Deion Branch mess has finally been cleared up, Bostonist isn't sure that this has improved the Patriots for the 2006 battle. The Pats still lack a primary #1 wide receiver type, and while having 2 round 1 picks in 2007 sounds great and all, Bostonists would rather a sooner than later return to the Promised Land of SuperBowl-ville.
