HeyLetsGo, a local upstart social website based on events, is throwing their biggest party ever this weekend. They've gotten a hold of Fenway Park and are letting their members in for free to watch the (away) game on the biggest TV in Boston (the jumbotron). They've hosted a whole bunch of parties before – and provided some entertainment with the way their website truncated (and still truncates) certain members words. To join the HeyLetsGo crew, a few of the Bostonist team, Wally, and several thousand other (21+) friends at Fenway this Friday you have to browse on over to their site and RSVP. Yep, they've required that you sign up (which is free) and RSVP (also free) to attend the party (did you guess? Free).
The event promises to have access to the game via the jumbotron and the TV monitors located throughout the concourse below the grandstand. The right field roof deck will be open, and we've heard they won't have the usual minimum purchase requirements for those sweet seats. BOS' John Lorenti will MC the evening and Jabe Beyer will be performing live. With the entrance through Gate B the set-up will be fairly similar to that of Hot Stove, Cool Music (which located everything below the seats when the rain became too much) this year.
We've been poking around on HeyLetsGo since January. They just underwent a redesign of the site's look along with the release of a new logo. We've been told they've yet to officially launch, but there's a lot of functionality in the site – and with their recent changes they may have forgotten to keep the "beta" tag on the logo. The site is growing – and judging by this party and the related ads they've got running on some cars of the T – membership will certainly be up. The Sox aren't out completely out of this years race yet – and if we can support a sweep of the Yanks at Fenway we'll do it. Anyone have Francona's cell number so we can send him a PIX message of all the adoring fans at this party Friday night?
