MIT: Our Connection to White and Nerdy

There was a time when Weird Al was an idol not to be reckoned with. In the mind of a pre-teen "Dare to be Stupid" was a masterpiece like no other. The parodies kept flowing for a while, and we started losing interest. We came back around to Weird Al when he made appearances on VH1's I Love the 80's 3-D. Now he's back with a new album. Straight Outta Lynwood is set to drop a week from tomorrow, though the first video from the disc is scheduled to be released at midnight tonight. The tubes must be flowing free today, because the latest parody video from Weird Al, "White and Nerdy" is already alive and well on youtube. We bring it to you with local relevance. MIT, one of our favorite local institutes of technology is represented. According to the song, part of being nerdy is holding the GPA to be "first in my class at MIT."

And the Segway – we could tie that in too. It's headquartered in a nearby New Hampshire town. But we can't make mention unless we talk about the recall of every Segway ever made due to a software glitch than can reverse the wheels unexpectedly and toss the rider. Oops.
