Friday Flashback: True Story

A true story of seven strangers picked to live in a…firehouse. Back in 1997, when Bostonist was still eligible to participate as a member of MTV's Real World cast (sadly we're too old and not enough of a stereotype for the current seasons), the show filmed a season with the cast living at a converted Beacon Hill firehouse. Yesterday the Boston Globe ran an article about an Eastie residence which sold for $1.15 million, also a converted firehouse, in the Style section. We got to reminiscing about the days when Syrus and friends were walking the streets of Boston and helping kids in Eastie as part of the sixth season of the reality show. The show has been smattered with Boston residents and students of our fine institutions of higher education since its inception. For today's Friday Flashback we grab a montage of all the season openers for the Real World program. If you're just interested in Boston check 2:19 into the video – or watch the whole thing and remember the series you loved and the series you missed.
