Halloween Prank of the Day: Ribbed for VB's Pleasure

vb_sans_condom.JPG The Fox 25 morning news crew - Anqunette Jamison, Gene Lavanchy, and Doug "VB" Goudie - started their segment "Let It Rip" as usual. They began to debate the punishment for a crew of boozing high-schoolers when VB, who delivers his opinions from outside the state house, was joined by an unexpected guest -

a gentleman dressed as a ribbed condom who waved a sign declaring "VB HATES ME!"

As VB expressed his feelings about underage drinking, the life-sized ribbed condom appeared in the frame across the street. He was talking on a cell phone to see if he was still on television, and he started to dance. He did the jig. He did the slide. He really boogied.

Jamison and Lavanchy tried to stifle their laughter. When VB, who had no idea what was going on, finished up, Lavanchy admitted, "I didn't catch a word you said."

Then a producer must have notified VB about the life-sized ribbed condom hamming it up across the street. Either that, or he wondered why so many people started honking their horns. His eyes narrowed into slits. He started shooting glances to his left, like he was ready to pounce on the life-sized ribbed condom. The crew gamely continued the conversation, and the camera zoomed in on VB's head to remove the life-sized ribbed condom from the screen, but the prankster would not be denied.

Bostonist will see if MyFoxBoston posts the segment on its website. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for this screengrab of VB without the dancing ribbed condom in the frame. MyFoxBoston posted the segment, unedited.

Gene-O, it's OK I don't listen to VB either.

I stifled a cheer upon seeing The Running Man pulled out of the dance archives for a quick moment in the spotlight.

Glorious.

I missed it! Sounds perfect though.
