Sherley believes embryos are human and that humans are therefore formed at conception. He sees no room for debate on the subject. It's a simple definition and scientifically that's a good thing. The problem is the social and legal ramifications of using such a simplistic definition are monumental. It's really not a good definition, legally speaking. Sherley's belief in what constitutes a human is based on mystical dogma. Nothing wrong with that game, billions play it, but you should not color scientific conclusions with religious beliefs. A scientist who uses his credentials, not his facts, to support his mystical philosophy should be kicked out of science. He's lucky he's only being kicked out of MIT. Then again, he claims he's really on a mission to eliminate racism at MIT and throughout America. I think it's strange he found that nobel cause only after his final desperate appeal was stamped "NO, FINAL ANSWER". Now he's on a hunger strike. To be perfectly honest, I would not be surprised if the nutty professor has been given more breaks as a result of his race, not despite it. This has zero to do with race, period.
