A holiday burglary was thwarted by some quick-thinking brothers who stopped an alleged robber by pulling down his pants.
CBS4 and the Salem News report that George and John Medeiros entered their mother's Peabody home to find a strange man hiding under their mother's bed. Upon announcing they were going to call the police, the intruder attacked John Medeiros with a lamp.
After a fight, George Medeiros got sick of messing around and pulled the aspiring burglar's pants and underwear down to his ankles, which kept him sufficiently restrained until the police arrived.
Bostonist was impressed by the 70-year-old woman who grabbed her purse back from a wannabe purse-snatcher, but getting a burglar by the britches takes crime-fighting to a whole new level. However, Bostonist would like to send a message - "Do not try this at home!" It's better to let the professionals handle the criminals. But at least the tale of the Pantsed Peabody Perp had a happy ending - nothing got stolen, and no one got seriously hurt.
