What's up with the panty theme? Well, one of the big names in free weeklies might be coming to town, and they want your newsy knickers.
The Onion, with its hilarious headlines and cultural critiques, appears to have Boston as the next target for its print weekly.
Here's where the knickers come in - an ad appeared in Craigslist asking for volunteers to dress up as newsies:
The Onion Newspaper is looking for enthusiastic and outgoing people to dress up like newsies and hand out newspapers in the central Boston area on Wednesday, January 31. You must be available that morning and early afternoon. We provide newsie hats and socks, so you must come up with a vest and some sort of knicker-like pants. The pay is $10/hour. Please email for more details.
Read that closely. Some sort of knicker-like pants? Folks, this is the Onion, and the wording of "some sort of knicker-like pants" suggests that said pants are open to interpretation. Use your imagination, and contact the Onion right away. And Bostonist wants pictures!
