The Patriots' loss against the Colts looked like a replay of how the Patriots beat the Chargers, minus the head-butting. Like the Chargers last time, the Patriots had everything at the beginning. Sportswriters were probably preparing paragraphs about how Peyton Manning can't take the pressure of the playoffs.
And then the Patriots gave it all away. Don't blame Reche Caldwell, who had a case of the butterfingers. It wasn't just him. The second half of the game was ugly all around. The Colts saw an opportunity, and they took it. However, the fact that the score of the game was so high (38-34) suggests sloppy football on both sides.
The Globe tried to look on the bright side and said, "Hey, at least we didn't get riots!" Well, maybe. Over in Cambridge, sirens went off the second the game was over. It may have been for an unrelated incident, but it makes you wonder.
