Crossing Jordan: Diagnosis ACS

The new crop of reality shows this season featuring Boston men have been captivating our attention. It's been a while since Cheers was on the air, but the continual stream of based in fake-Boston set shows keep on coming. Crossing Jordan is the most watchable of Boston based shows currently on TV.

The end of the NFL season (the Pats are out anyway) allowed for some free time Sunday evening to tune into the sometimes tolerable Crossing Jordan. Jill Hennessy (a.k.a. Jordan) has been a favorite since her stint on the original version of Law and Order as A.D.A Kincaid. We see a lot of Jill every time we tune in, a lot of Jill and a lot of Jerry O'Connell – who is still mostly that guy from "My Secret Identity" in our minds with a little bit of Vern from Stand By Me mixed in. Perhaps it's because of that and his role in Sliders that we can't wrap our heads around him playing some other character. Last nights episode had Boston erupting in racially charged violence following a decision based on Jordan's evidence. The riots sounded big, but there were only sound stage filmed "outside" scenes. We couldn't help but wonder how Menino might react to a huge problem like a night of riots that nearly destroy the city – rather than, say, Filene's Basement closing for renovations.

We searched the internets looking for a useable clip of last nights episode to show the riots, ambulances and cop cars engulfed in flames, or something, anything Boston-like. We found only one clip from the episode up so far, and we'd believe it to be something that actually could come out of Boston – a diagnosis for ACS.
