Sports Redux: Feel Like Makin' Love

bad-company.jpgAh, finally, a break from Aqua Teen Hunger Force …

When the chips are down for the local sports teams, it's time to talk about what players, coaches, owners, and GMs are doing in their spare time.

They're getting busy. In what would have been a major local story were it not for a certain cup, cluster o' fries, and a "meat wad," word leaked out that Red Sox GM Theo Epstein got hitched - at Nathan's Hot Dogs in Coney Island.

Epstein's people quickly responded that the Sox GM did in fact marry, but he did not, under any circumstances, do it at Nathan's Hot Dogs. Heaven forbid.

Epstein's dad started it by saying his kid got married at Nathan's. Reporters should have been a tad skeptical since his dad is head of Boston University's creative writing department.

The other sports figure with an active love life is Bill Belichick, of all people. It must be the hoody. The Track Girls have been following the story that the Hooded One may have broken up a marriage with his smoldering glance and rugged attire.

Maybe the Celtics have overactive love lives, too. They must have something else on their minds because they're still losing. Then again, they lost to the Lakers (111-98), who enjoyed the return of Kobe Bryant. Bryant had been suspended for hitting the Spurs' Manu Ginobili in the face either accidentally or on purpose.

So Kobe had something to prove, and no Celtic would stand in his way. This is the Celtics' 13th loss, so they've tied the Celtics loss record.

More people probably would have noticed that stat, too, if it weren't for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The Celtics are probably loving that show right now.
