Grant Stoddard will read from Working Stiff at Harvard Book Store, 6:30 pm, Wednesday, February 7.
A few days ago, we talked about Vendela Vida's day jobs as an editor and writing teacher. But Grant Stoddard has a day job worth talking about.
He has sex all day. That's pretty much it. Then he writes about it.
Grant Stoddard has done everything you can think of, and probably a few things you haven't thought of. He wrote the "I Did It for Science" column for Nerve.com, and he has gathered his adventures together in the collection Working Stiff. When Bostonist first heard the title, we thought he was writing about being an undertaker.
Then we did some research and found we were wrong. His first adventure for Nerve started with his having intimate relations on an MTA subway car, which seemed mild. Then it ended with a combo plaster-caster self-service episode. We can't say much more without embarrassing our mothers, but you're bound to hear some amazing, blush-worthy stories that might even impress Cambridge's own Lena Chen.
We usually post pictures of the book because, hey, you should be listening to the book instead of checking out the author. However, we were curious about what a "sexpert" looks like. Therefore, image of Grant Stoddard from www.grantstoddard.com.
