Love Bites at Midnight

Love Bites will start at Coolidge Corner Theatre tonight at midnight. Tickets are $9. Tomorrow night, Coolidge Corner Theatre will throw a Moulin Rouge Sing-a-Long at midnight, too. But the prospect of singing along with Axl seems way cooler.

If you're nursing a broken heart, or if you can't help but break out in song every time you hear Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart," you must race down to Coolidge Corner at midnight because the Love Bites Sing-a-Long is tailor-made for you.

The trailer for the show, which was in Austin, is available on YouTube. Along with Def Leppard, we saw Ms. Tyler, Poison, and Journey. Yes, Dr. Steve Perry will help you nurse a crush. The trailer also promises videos by Cinderella and Motley Crue.

Just in case you need it, Bostonist has provided a chunk of the lyrics to "Total Eclipse of the Heart." We considered posting the whole thing, but it's a surprisingly wordy song, so we found the good stuff, which you can bring with you or just sing in the shower if you need to let off some steam:

Once upon a time I was falling in love
But now I'm only falling apart
There's nothing I can do
A total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time there was light in my life
But now there's only love in the dark
Nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart

Oh, and don't forget, "Turn around, bright eyes!"

The song you've quoted there is called "Turn Around" by Bright Eyes. I don't know who "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is, but they shouldn't be taking credit for Bright Eyes's most beautiful song.

OK, emo-boy, that was a joke, right? You can't possibly be so navel-gazing as not to know that there actually was some music produced before li'l Conor crawled onto the scene. It was a 1983 hit by Bonnie Tyler.
