Some May Say…the Police at Fenway

200px-Police-album-outlandosdamour.jpgThe rumors started earlier this week that the Police are coming to Boston this summer to play a show at Fenway Park. There's been speculation for a while now that the Police would be playing a number of dates during the summer of 2007 for a 30th anniversary/reunion tour. One thing that has been confirmed is that the Police will be rocking the Grammy awards in LA on Sunday night. According to the BBC there's now a little bit more to the story

The band will make a "special announcement" in Los Angeles on Monday - the day after they reform at the Grammy Awards.
The Police enjoyed global success in the 1980s but have performed only a handful of times since releasing their last album in 1983.
Frontman Sting has had a successful solo career with eight studio albums.
The press conference is scheduled for 11 am on Monday and the group is expected to detail some plans for a world tour. WBZ reported Monday that they speculate the tour dates at Fenway will be July 28 and July 29, the tail end of an eight game away stint for the Sox while they play Cleveland and Tampa Bay. Giant steps are what you take, walking on the moon.
