A truck crashed through the storefront of the Ultra Beauty Shop in Jamaica Plain yesterday afternoon. A Cobra Central Systems truck plowed so deep into the shop that it struck a support post.
Six people were hurt, and the neighborhing Milky Way Lounge & Lanes had to shut down for the night because of the damage. However, Bostonist called, and they will be open tonight.
Another truck incident had a tragic ending in New York City. A three-year-old from Massachusetts was crossing the street with his mother in Brooklyn when a truck hit him and killed him.
A strange story is unfolding in Lakeville, where a married couple were found in a possible murder-suicide. The husband was the owner of the Heritage Hill Country Club, and the wife was a realtor. Although the details haven't emerged, this incident might have "TV Movie" written all over it.
In less depressing and more entertaining news, the BPD unveiled a set of cute headlines. In the first story, called "This Bird's for You," the BPD reveals that it is a bad idea to give the middle finger to an officer if they're about to pull you over. It's also adorable that the BPD put "the finger" in quotation marks.
The second BPD story is called "When You Gotta Go … You Gotta Go," and offers an interesting, if ultimately failed, excuse for speeding. Officers tailed a speeding individual and finally caught him in his driveway. The guy then explained to the officers that he had to go real bad. He was arrested and charged. The report doesn't say whether or not the BPD let him use the bathroom, but, if his story was true, then Bostonist sure hopes they let the guy take a pit stop.
Last of all, a perp who refers to himself the "Alabama Slamma" was arrested for disorderly when he groped women and was spotted "gyrating his hips." Police arrested him, and he can now gyrate his hips in jail.
