The deputy commissioner of the Boston Transportation Department resigned because he lost his license and tried to hide it. Now that's more impressive than your run-of-the-mill sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll scandal. You'd think the head of the Transportation Department would have a relatively clean driving record.
He had racked up the violations in New York and Massachusetts, including "driving while impaired." His wife was driving him to work. Perhaps he was ready to ask his momma for a ride.
Speaking of bad driving situations (not necessarily bad drivers), yesterday brought an alarming number of cars crashing into houses. One person crashed into a home and died in Chelsea yesterday.
Then a dump truck crashed into a house in Holden yesterday. Luckily, no one was hurt in that go-round.
And then a woman crashed her car into a restaurant in Orleans last night. No one was hurt, but we're not sure what's going on with the cars and their drivers in this state.
We'll end with a word of advice that, mercifully, has nothing to do with cars (but maybe a little to do with "hot rods," but we'll stop that train of thought right now). The BPD got in another brilliant headline: "Not-So-Bright Whiz Kid." Three guesses as to why this guy got in trouble!
All charges are alleged until proven under law. Image of a hot rod from Flickr user The Javelina.
