The word "metro" is pretty universal--a Russian visiting Boston for a conference, say, would know exactly what M is but wouldn't have any idea what to make of T. A great recent "T"-using Google Maps mashup of course is the new mbta.com. Such an unbelievable improvement over the old site.</p>
