Yesterday the Red Sox and Wise Foods announced a new partnership. The agreement names Wise the official Potato Chip and Cheez Doodle sponsor of the Boston Red Sox. Guess all those unofficial chip and doodle sponsors are sore out of luck. It's not just a deal with the front office – Big Papi is moving out from just hawking his mango salsa and will now Big Papi will hereby be known as the Wise Player David Ortiz. The salsa to chip isn’t the only connection here – from the press release
As Presenting Sponsor of the Lindos Suenos program, Wise joins the Red Sox in bringing together young men from the United States and the Dominican Republic to work together on community service projects in the Dominican Republic. The program is supervised by former baseball star Jesus Alou, the current Director of Dominican Operations for the Red Sox. Participants in the program also receive coaching and instruction at the Red Sox Baseball Academy in El Toro, Dominican Republic. They're making the connection to the Lindos Suenos program as well, supporting community service in Ortiz' native DR. The new sponsorship will put a Wise ad on the walls of Fenway's outfield and give Wise permission to use Red Sox logos on their packaging throughout New England. Cheez Doodles (made with real cheez) and other Wise brand chips and snack foods will become a staple at vendors inside Fenway for the life of the three-year sponsorship deal.
