Boston Blotter: Faux-Bono Guest Stars

pavel-sfera.jpg--Did you see the Track Girls mention that Bono was in town for some reason and popping up in very public places? Turns out that, according to the rival Globe, "Bono" was actually a pretty good impostor named Pavel Sfera. St. Patrick's Day is coming up, and if he's in town and you want to play a great prank on your friend, you might want to see if he's available. His website is www.bonolookalike.com.

We classify this as "Blotter" not because Sfera committed a crime. He just happens to be rather good at what he does. Just consider it more of a consumer alert if one of your friends swears that he or she just had a conversation with the U2 frontman.

--Information has surfaced that Quinntessa Blackwell, the young woman shot to death in Dorchester, was walking with a man at the time she was hit. Her family and a neighbor are saying that he was the actual target, but he took off when the bullets started flying.

The Globe reported that she said the word "Cedric" before dying, which is so far the only clue in finding her killer. The Herald profiled Blackwell's loved ones - and this is the kind of story that makes you want to cry. Everyone had a good word for her, and the tragedy is that someone with a lot to give was taken in cold blood.

--In Belmont, police made a serious bust that edged closer to West End Pizza territory. If you're in West End Pizza territory, that means you've got drugs and guns. And this guy in Belmont had some serious drugs and guns: "Police find two handguns, a sawed off shotgun, a high powered rifle, a bulletproof vest, a stun gun, cocaine, marijuana, equipment for cultivating marijuana, and $13,000." A sawed-off shotgun? We always thought pot-growers were on the peaceful end of the drug-growing spectrum.

All charges alleged until proven under law. Image of Faux-Bono from bonolookalike.com.
