The AP released a short blurb on a fire at the MFA earlier today. The fire was ignited by construction workers who were preparing for the demolition phase before construction can begin. The bad news is that emergency response was called to the scene to extinguish the fire and one construction worker was taken to the hospital due to smoke inhalation. The good news is that the MFA didn't have to evacuate any part of the museum in operation and that there was no damage, or risk, to the collection.
Watching fire trucks tear down Huntington towards the MFA can be alarming when you consider the millions of dollars worth of art contained within their walls – and the AP does a good job of keeping the sensation alive with their release
Firefighters were able to contain a small blaze that broke out Thursday at a construction site in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.Blaze ignites the fire within us. It's not just a fire – we looked it up. According to the American Heritage Dictionary definitions include "A brilliant burst of fire. A destructive fire. A bright or steady light or glare. A brilliant, striking display." None of those definitions seen to say "small, accidental fire that was easily put out."
