It seemed as if the Celtics were riding high when they finally beat the San Antonio Spurs this weekend and gave the Dallas Mavericks a run for their money. St. Patrick's Day had been kind to the Celtics, especially with anything regarding the state of Texas.
However, the good luck was only on the court. News also emerged this weekend that the Celtics organization had "excessive contact" with a Texas VIP - University of Texas basketball hotshot Kevin Durant.
The AP reports that "General Manager Danny Ainge sat next to Durant's mother during the Big 12 tournament. The league said Ainge violated rules demanding that contact be kept to a minimum between team executives and potential NBA draft picks, until college players officially declare for the draft."
Sitting next to Durant's momma is going to cost the Celtics $30,000.
But it will be hard to keep the NBA away now that Durant has some free time on his hands. Durant didn't have a good Sunday either when the University of Southern California blocked Texas from advancing in the NCAA tournament. We wonder if he'll be hearing from his momma about that matter.

Good thing Danny didn't buy Durant's mother a Pepsi or anything. What would the fine have been then?
