Boston Blotter: Gang Who Couldn't Shoot Straight Strikes Again

gang-that-couldn%27t-shoot-straight2.jpg--The gang who couldn't shoot straight has struck again, and a five-year-old boy was the victim of their error. A family stopped in Dorchester at Harbor Point and was driving to Malden when someone thought they were suspicious, enemies, wearing the wrong colors, whatever. So they started shooting at the car on I-93 near the Zakim Bridge.

These individuals hit the little kid in the backseat. He is now in fair condition at the hospital and is extremely lucky. As for the individuals who shot him, we hope they get caught. If they don't get caught, we hope that maybe they invest in some lessons at the firing range. Or, maybe they'll realize that shooting at cars and successfully hitting targets happens only in the movies.

All kidding aside, this is a terrible crime, and we hope the boy pulls through with a minimum of physical and emotional scars.

--A mother and her young daughter were found stabbed to death in Brockton. The woman's husband has already been taken in. The Herald spoke with a neighbor who said the man was a military veteran who may have been having trouble readjusting.

--Police confirmed that the body pulled from the harbor does indeed belong to Dustin Willis, the sailor who went missing a few days ago. WCVB reports, "Officials said that they believe that Willis became confused in the driving snow on Friday night."

--A teenager scared the crap out of an elderly woman in Framingham. He says he was performing a sociology experiment by seeing how people reacted in strange situations. He felt that gave him license to throw on a fright mask, knock on an 85-year-old's door, and see how she handled his costume. And, boy, are people pissed. He's been charged, and a police department chief said the teenager's actions were the equivalent of shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theater.

Okay, it wasn't the brightest move in the world, but no one got hurt. It's not that huge of a deal. The Fox News Morning team recommended that, instead of prosecuting the teenager, they just make him mow the lady's yard. Sounds fair to us.
