After little Sheldon Mathias got hit by a bullet on I-93 Wednesday night, people might be worried that tough guys are firing at random people. But the Suffolk District Attorney thinks the shooters were aiming at someone in the car – even if they weren't smart enough to shoot straight.
Even if someone in the car was involved in some kind of beef, poor Sheldon shouldn't have been involved. This incident, if anything should push the city to act and find some way to settle the gang violence. WBZ interviewed the mother of another child who was paralyzed by a bullet, and she spoke directly to the shooters, "I don't know what to say to you except stop it. You need to cut it out. And you need to quit this and kill this animosity in their heart."
We don't condone violence at all, but wouldn't the old-fashioned duel be an easier way to settle beefs without terrorizing parents and little kids? Then these idiots can fight and leave all the innocent people out of it.
The Department of Social Services might be investigating Sheldon's family, too. News emerged that Sheldon's father had filed a complaint the day before the shooting after getting in an argument with Sheldon's mother's new boyfriend. Sheldon's mother and the new boyfriend were in the car on I-93 when Sheldon got shot.
All charges alleged until proven under law.
