--Commissioner Ed Davis isn't thrilled that the Guardian Angels want to come back to Boston. Guardian Angel leader Curtis Sliwa says that's Davis' problem, and the Angels are coming back to Boston anyway. The Guardian Angels have been here before, but they left in 1992. In fact, you might see the trademark red beret of the Angels starting tomorrow. (And let us know if you do.)
--Since Chiara Levin died, it seems as if our city leaders have been running around as if their hair is on fire. Will the Guardian Angels come? Will it help? Does anyone care? But someone out there is keeping a cool head – Levin's parents. They have said something that everyone from Bruce Wall to the mayor can agree with: "We can only hope that others will learn from this terrible event. There is too much violence in our society, and we urge everyone to look for ways to eliminate these senseless acts of crime."
--In an unfortunate indicator of the aforementioned violence, an 11-year-old boy brought a loaded handgun to the John P. Holland School in Dorchester. It's not clear if he did it to protect himself or for a misguided moment of show-and-tell, but he will be facing charges in juvenile court.
--And some amusing blotter news – finally, after an incredibly grim past few days. The police played hide-go-seek in Brighton with a man who apparently calls himself "The Mole." Officers saw the guy waltzing around in "No Tresspassing" zones and peeping in apartment and business windows. Unfortunately, the BPD missed out on comic gold by not naming their post "Whack-a-Mole."
