Boston Blotter: More on the Cape Cod Shooting
--The story of the Cape Cod doctor who killed her husband is starting to read like something out of a thriller or television episode. Ann Gryboski has alleged that her husband, Patrick Lancaster, abused her, and she shot him in the midst of a fresh argument.
Gryboski appeared in court bearing the marks of having been beat up, and her lawyer will claim that she acted in self-defense under the "battered woman's defense." The case may face a challenge since Gryboski never made a formal complaint against her husband, but neighbors have said the husband had an "explosive temper, a bad demeanor."
--In the case of the young Lowell man who was shot to death on the eve of his 16th birthday, the Globe reported that he may have been killed because of a beef. We must ask, why did these guys not settle their alleged beef through a fistfight instead of ending someone's life permanently?
--A man hurt three people in a police chase today. The perp stole a tow truck in Jamaica Plain and took off, eventually crashing into other cars and causing injuries. If you want to play real-life Grand Theft Auto, make sure you can drive first.
--A van driver for Fallon Ambulance Service was found behind the wheel with a gunshot wound. He was shot right after he dropped off a wheelchair-bound patient. But he thought fast and honked for help after he was hit.
All charges alleged until proven under law.
