--We thought all we had to worry about was guns! Well, the BPD had to round up a machete-wielding man yesterday. In Maverick Square, this person raced after his victim in public and actually made contact several times before police got there. The victim got lucky and is now in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
--A news bit we skipped in light of the meltdown at the Good Time Emporium: The BPD had to intervene at the Radisson downtown Sunday morning because some hotel guests refused to pay for adult movies they had charged to their room. The BPD wrote "a large verbal altercation ensued," and police found it necessary to arrest one individual. Was Play Hide the Salami or whatever it was they watched worth the fuss?
--A security camera captured an attack on a Medford woman on Friday night, and police are broadcasting the footage to help capture the assailant. The man attacked a woman on Winthrop Street, threatening her with a knife and assaulting her twice. WCVB describes the perp: "A heavy-set man in his early 20s who is no taller than 5 feet 10 inches tall."
