When we write about alleged creepy men, we usually write about scary guys in hoodies who stalk women after dark. We don't usually expect to write about indecent exposure at the ICA. Artist Gloretta Baynes is accusing highbrow lawyer Stephen Kunian of ripping open her top and exposing her bra to everyone at the ICA opening party in December.
Now that's embarrassing. Apparently Kunian wanted to see Baynes' necklace, and he pulled open her sweater. Baynes is also accusing Kunian of touching her while opening her sweater and generally treating her like an object. We found it interesting that the Herald wrote that Kunian's wife was in another part of the ICA at the time.
Baynes' accusation is not idle. There is enough evidence to arraign Kunian, and his lawyer is fighting it as hard as he can. Kunian's attorney calls the charges "an attempt at character assassination" and suggests that Baynes just wants some money.
The moral of the story: No matter how this one turns out, don't accost strangers at parties and try to take off their clothes.
