Weather Freakouts: Clouds Are Scary

Not all clouds are cute little cotton puffs. Here's a photo of low-hanging clouds that made Boston look like a winter night – at about 3:30 pm this afternoon.

We just went to the National Weather Service website, which provides the latest updates. As of 3:41, "the severe thunderstorm warning for central Middlesex county has been cancelled … wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour and heavy rains can be expected through 4:30 pm."

The service has also issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for parts of Worcester, Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, and Suffolk counties until 6:45 pm. Feel free to share any weather freakouts.

Update: Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin, Worcester, and Hampden counties are under a tornado watch until 6:00 pm.

Excuse the poor cell-phone photography by Caroline Roberts. If you have a better image, send it along, and we'll post it!
