Meehan Being Meehan: Giggling Like a Schoolboy Over Kelly Clarkson

There's nothing like Fox 25 for sheer entertainment value. We love them. Their reporters go bull-riding. Reporter Bianca De La Garza was honored by Hustler. And their morning traffic reporter had a gloriously awkward interview with Kelly Clarkson.

Doug Meehan, wearing a Hawaiian shirt as he does on Aloha Fridays, bubbled over with enthusiasm at the prospect of chatting with Clarkson about her Vitamin Water tour. He gushed, "I am thirsty as all get out! You have any suggestions?" He was crushing hard.

Clarkson responded gracefully, but she fielded his questions like she was navigating a touchy situation with a high-school gym coach. She looked especially perplexed when Meehan fantasized about going out with Clarkson in LA: "Maybe we'll go to dinner, maybe we'll date a little bit, but here's the thing - I will never break up with you - you are one angry girl!"

Apparently Clarkson has some bad-breakup tracks on her album, and Meehan thought one of them was titled "My Bastard Boyfriend." That is not the case, and Clarkson howled with laughter at the thought. By the end of the interview, she declared, "You've been my favorite interview of the day!"
