We don't know about the wireless capabilities within the Red Sox clubhouse at Fenway Park (we'd love to find out, but bloggers are persona non grata when it comes to MLB). But today we're imagining a little media station set up somewhere near the whirlpools and ice baths, at which Curt Schilling and Kevin Youkilis can sit, chat and happily pound away at their keyboards.
Youk, you say? Yes, friends. We're now happily welcoming Youk into the blogging fold, as the Red Sox first baseman, on-fire batsman and fan favorite has set up a blog on the new(ish) MLBlogs network. Yooooouuuuukkkkk went live yesterday with the following words: Maybe we can finally put all of this “Kevin Youkilis can’t run” stuff to rest now.
Fabulous start to what was a surprisingly wordy post, suggesting that perhaps Youk, like Schilling, is going to spoil his voracious online readers and otherwise provide fodder for countless Dan Shaughnessy colums to come.
Running battles between Youk and Dustin Pedroia aside, the portion of the entry that made us smile most?
It’s a good time to be a player on the Red Sox right now. Winning makes everything a lot more fun as a player. Everybody gets along great when you’re winning. There are a lot of positive things happening with our club at this point.
Welcome, Youk. And for the rest of you, know that you can help the guy name his new online space. Check the entry for details and then get creative.
Thanks to Tom for the heads up!
