State Congressional Candidate Ponders Brady's Britches

053107_tom_brady_details.JPGAt one point or another, a New Englander is bound to ponder Tom Brady's sex life. He's handsome, talented, and rich, the Ken doll of the NFL. Of course he's scored some mattress touchdowns.

But Kevin Thompson, candidate for Marty Meehan's empty spot in the 5th Congressional district, thinks Brady needs to keep his pants zipped.

Thompson had a lot to say about Brady's recent interview with Details magazine:

What kind of world is this if Tom Brady is not absolutely ashamed of himself? He, a grown man, is showing the maturity of a hormone-driven teenager. Tom Brady apparently has no regard for traditional virtue or Biblical morality … What is manly or praise-worthy of a man hopping from supermodel to supermodel and forcing a woman to raise her child without a loving, present, father? Sorry, Tom, but money and part-time fathering can never fully replace the atmosphere that two-loving parents (loving each other and their baby) can provide a child.

Thompson is with the Constitutional Party, and his overall platform can be summed up on his home page: "For too long both Democrats and Republicans have been trampling over our founding documents and our Founders' dream of a government beholden only to the people from whom its powers are derived. Our rights are endowed by our Creator, not given by Washington."

How Tom Brady's britches got mixed up in the documents of the Founding Fathers, we'll never know. But we have a funny feeling that Ben Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, and company would have been tempted by Gisele Bundchen, too.

I hate to be the one who raises this point yet again, but why do you people think Brady, or anyone of us for that matter, should share your personal values? and why does this absolute fool Kevin Thompson pretend to think he can understand the situation and relationships involved here? These are not his friends or his family he is talking about. Uh, shut up.

Man, people are such busy bodies! You people all have your own problems to deal with (especially politicians like Thompson- who should be trying to address public woes) - get one with it (and leave other people alone!

Come on people. The founding fathers thing is just a joke.

If Brady is such a disappointment to you, then find someone else to worship or bitch about.

Compared to the shit other athletes have done, this guy is a choir boy. And, I'm no fan or his. What happened is not right but put your passion into more important issues other than Brady, unless you feel better going off about crap without all the facts of what happened. And nobody does know that. And nobody knows what kind of Dad he'll be yet. As far as this candidate's comments, doesn't he have more important things to say than this? Or is preaching to the rest of us really necessary. I think most people get it.

If you are so worried about the problem of unwed mothers and fathers then worry about the kids who not only don't have 2 parents but that are not financially supported and taken care of.

Not these rich, spoiled celebrities who feel they can do what they want.

I beg to diagree, Caroline, about the Founding Fathers' inclination to "do a Gisele".

Frankling fathered an illegitimate son, but he was FAITHFUL to his common-law wife (a sort of Bridget equivalent?) and he was a mega intellectual, so I don't think Gisele would be his type.

Washington and Adams were NOT at all womanizers. Wahington raised another man's children as his own when he married a widow, whereas Brady can't get his act together with his biological child.

Adams abhorred the superficial, and chose for his wife a woman who was highly intellectual. And at 5'7", Gisele would be WAY too tall for him.

But I agree with you that Tom Brady should NOT be "mixed up" with the Founding Fathers. They wouldn't have given someone of his shallowness the time of day.

Man,when you miss the point you go all the way with it, don't you? Gisele's looks are so WAY not the point here. Neither is whether Brady is good in bed. The point is he fathered a child and except for a face-saving generic statement released by his agent right after the announcement, he has totally ignored Moynahan & their unborn child. In football terms...he fumbled the ball. The NE press needs to get their heads out of Brady a*s, and start printing the facts.

Another Boston writer willing to give Brady a "free pass" over his behavior. Shame on you!!!

The unborn child should be the temptation in this scenario, not the soft porn model Gisele Bunchen. Tom Brady has totally ignored his pregnant ex and the baby to do "mattress" time with Gisele. That is what is unacceptable. Everyone thinks that if Tom Brady starts writing out checks after the baby is born he is being a good father and supportive parent - and no one is questioning the homewrecker Gisele Bundchen who went after a guy who was in a long term relationship and the girl is pregnant. Do her looks and celebrity make behavior like that okay?

  • Kart

You are missing the point, it's not who he's sleeping with now. It's who he has left behind, a pregnant ex. If he didn't have one, he would be congratulated for scoring Gisele, but he totally didn't have control and procreated a child.

  • Jean

How can you say that about our founders!? If Gisele was around back then, she would have been burnt at the town hall for being a homewrecker!
