--In Framingham on Tuesday night, a robber used Devil Dogs as part of his strategy when stealing from the Stop & Shop.
Emanuel Goffigan got into line and "began waving" a pack of Devil Dogs. Then, when the cashier opened the drawer of her cash machine, he pounced on it, got the money, and ran. We're not exactly sure where the Devil Dogs fit because he could have jumped on the drawer at any time, but it makes the story more entertaining. He got caught, by the way.
--While three children were in the house, a man entered a home in Mattapan and just started shooting. Two adults were hit and are in the hospital. No word yet if the gunman was caught and if he had any connection to the people inside the house.
--One of the students who hacked into the computer system at Holliston High School will be charged for his actions. The other three will do community service.
--The BPD blog is BACK! And they have returned with a story oh-so-worthy of the blotter. A Red Sox fan decided he wanted to get a little too close to his idols on Wednesday night. He ran onto the field and slid into second base. The BPD blog writer, finally able to share his or her anonymous wisdom with the world, notes: "Fan Slides Into Second Base with Cheers but Ends Up in Jail Alone."
--So we wrote about a drunken sofa surfer a few days ago. Now we have the guy who got caught sleeping in a stolen car in Dorchester. In general, if you don't want to tangle with police, don’t sleep somewhere that doesn't belong to you.
--Two people were arrested for firing at someone with a sawed-off shotgun in Mattapan on Thursday morning. The person who was the target got to police, and police got to the shooters and their shotguns.
--The wife of the former district attorney in Bristol has been arrested for drunken driving – for the fifth time. Sheila Martines Pina was arrested in New Bedford, and "A police officer reported seeing 14 nip bottles of vodka, all but two empty, inside her car." She's had a long fall. She used to be a tv anchor who shared a show in Rhode Island with Matt Lauer.
