<description>&lt;p&gt;Tom Shay was a mixed up 19 year-old when the Roslindale Bomb exploded in 1991 at his father&apos;s home. Despite his attention-getting, voluntary false confession-like, statements to the police and media, Tom Shay had nothing to do with that explosion and neither did his acquaintance, Alfred Trenkler. Both men were wrongly convicted. The real builder of that bomb remains free, and the Hurley, Foley and Corbett families are without the closure that they deserve. However, such closure cannot come at the price of the continued imprisonment of the perfectly innocent Alfred Trenkler. A complete and impartial investigation should be launched to reveal the true facts of that case. That investigation should lead to the outright exoneration of both men, or a retrial and acquittal for Alfred Trenkler; and then the search for the real maker of the Roslindale Bomb should be reopened.
