Boston Blotter: Department of Creative Weapons

061007_belt_buckle.jpg--In a Tremont Street parking garage early this morning, some alleged thugs from Worcester started a fight and proceeded to beat on their opponents with belts. Usually, when the BPD writes of a perp reaching for something in the ol' waistband, you know they're bracing for a gun. But these guys really were using their waistbands as weapons. In more ordinary crime, someone got shot in Roxbury overnight.

--In Spencer, police found the body of Cheri Robinson after a lengthy search. Robinson's husband had killed her, taken their kids hostage, and eventually killed himself. Yet her body was missing until yesterday, when members of a team of 80 searchers finally found her shallow grave.

--A man allegedly attempted to kidnap a 2-year-old in Franklin Park yesterday afternoon. While at the park, the child was playing with a basketball. The man got the basketball and attempted to lure the child away from the family and toward the basketball court. The parents got to the child and the police, and the perp was put under arrest.

--During a motorcycle chase yesterday in South Boston, the driver made things awfully easy on police. While trying to get away, the errant driver hit a parked car and didn’t hurt anyone else. If only all motor chases ended that way!

--Two people were stabbed at the Emerald Hall Banquet after what WHDH called a "brawl."

--A Globe delivery truck got a little crazy in Newton--it crashed into a gas station, and the driver went to the hospital for injuries.

All charges alleged until proven under law. Image from Beltbuckleshop.com.
