Boston Blotter: Blackboard Jungle, Teacher-Style

blackboard-jungle.jpg--In Marblehead, a headmaster is accused of shoving a female student, which earned him an "A" for assault. The assault charge is bad enough, but the headmaster allegedly did this after she caught him drinking booze in the principal's office.

Thomas Commeret is still headmaster of Marblehead Community Charter School – for now. He's on paid leave, but he doesn't exactly have a lot of support. One board former member said, "I believe [the student] 100 percent." (Ed: correction made to reflect that comment came from a former board member.)

If the charges are true, it looks like this 55-year-old individual needs to grow up.

--A man got shot in the South End last night by two other men who were riding bicycles. The Herald said that the victim was "clinging to life" but that the shooters haven't been caught.

--A guy in East Boston doing his landscaping at about 11 yesterday morning got yelled at by his neighbors for making too much noise. Whatever he was doing, it must have been more than potting plants. The landscaper panicked because he saw one of the neighbors "holding a black object in his right hand." Police were summoned, and they discovered that the suspected gun was actually a "black television remote controller."

--A woman who had been stabbed yesterday afternoon in a fight in Roxbury took toughness to a whole new level. After fighting with another woman, the stabbee sustained what the BPD called a "puncture wound to the neck." Despite said puncture wound, the victim said she was "fine." BPD did not agree and treated her. The stabber, a "heavyset black female wearing a black and silver dress," must have been easy to find. She is now under arrest.

--It's one thing to rob people at ATMs. That's garden-variety crime for you. But to rob people at ATMs and to use your momma's auto as your getaway car? A Revere woman did exactly that, and she got arrested for it yesterday.

--A shooting happened last night in Barnstable. The victim is in the hospital.

All charges alleged until proven under law. Image of Blackboard Jungle from Amazon.

The person commenting on Commeret is in fact a former board member. That doesn't point to support or lack of support on the current board.

Thank you for the catch. This has been corrected in the post.
