Seven Debates, Eight Candidates...

democratdonkey.jpgYour suit is so blue we can't even tell if it's blue or black. Oh, wait, yeah, it's blue. This is Massachusetts, totally blue. Yesterday Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK, announced that the JFK library is looking to host a debate at the facility of Democratic candidates for president on December 17, 2007. Seems like a long way away, but it could be only days before the New Hampshire primaries take place (they haven't yet determined the date.) The Democrats in the race have already complained that there are too many debates scheduled, and at six official debates sanctioned, the final debate is set to occur on December 10 in LA. It'll be hard to resist the iconic debate at the JFK library, however. With the GOP playing up any and all ties to Reagan they can come up with, and the Democrats trying to grab anything they can, a connection to JFK, a ever-popular Dem, might be a good connection to have - even if Menino has already endorsed Clinton.

CNN and Politico.com, have signed on as sponsors of the potential meeting. We don't have a real good reason to convince the candidates to come to Boston but we can offer a slew of fairly relevant factoids to sway their decision: JFK was a liked Democratic president, Boston is the cradle of freedom – especially looking to the revolutionary war history, Romney isn't our Governor anymore, oh, and we're wicked close to New Hampshire – they might even watch our local newscasts. The invitations will be sent out, and unlike declaring candidacy the process will likely be delayed until it's almost relevant.

You mean "Don Regan"? I didn't know he was _that_ popular amongst the GOP. After all, he was born in Cambridge.
