Told a Girl that my Prospects were Good

zakimdriving-2007.jpg"Baby you can drive my car. I got no car and it's breaking my heart, but I've found a driver and that's a start" The Vatican is trying to take all the fun out of driving. Today they issued a set of guidelines that hits home for Boston, a city full of Masshole drivers and Catholics – two groups which are often one in the same. The ten rules, or "commandments," for drivers hit the wire around rush hour here in Boston and provided guidance that seems logical and at the same time a little different than many locals treat the roadway. Particularly number 9 "On the road, protect the more vulnerable party" isn't consistent with local experience on the roadway – if there's a vunerable party it's the Masshole strategy to overtake that vehicle at all costs. If tears are involved bonus points might be awarded. The commandments follow

1. You shall not kill.
2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.
3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.
4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents.
5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.
6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.
7. Support the families of accident victims.
8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.
9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.
10. Feel responsible toward others.
We're just wondering what the back seat is supposed to be for it not "an occasion of sin"? All this and no mention of SMSing while driving, at least cell phone conversations while driving could have made the list with specificity. The Vatican is probably just holding out so when playing PSP while driving becomes the next problem they can say "Told you so, see number 1 and 2."
