The US Census reported that Bostonians love to walk to work. This week, Census data revealed that 12.5% of Boston workers walk, which puts them at the top of the list for American cities with the largest number of workers.
Mac Daniel also highlighted some more stats on how people in the city get to work:
--43% of Boston-area drivers ride alone
--32% use public transportation
--13% bicycle
Why doesn't it surprise us that Bostonians appear to be reluctant to carpool? Who would want to be tempted to be a backseat driver if you wind up with a Masshole at the wheel? But Bostonians aren't alone. The Census department also reports that 77% of American workers drive to work by themselves.
