Boston Blotter: Because Yankee Candle Has the Big Bucks

062507_yankee_candle.jpgUpdate: Good Blotter news! Thank you, tipsters, for spreading the word. Police found Starsha Tupper through bank records, and she is safe, according to the Gloucester Times.

--If you're a robber, and you're looking for the big bucks, where are you gonna go? Isn't it obvious? The Yankee Candle store!

Some robber dressed all in black held up the Yankee Candle at Quincy Market yesterday afternoon. Boy, he must be a thug – he wears black and holds up candle stores!

--A driver tried to speed off after striking a cyclist in the South End early last night. Police saw it, and the person who hit the cyclist kept on going after police yelled at her to stop. Of course, they got her license plate number and caught her anyway. No word on what happened to the cyclist, but they must be reasonably all right since the cyclist was able to identify the driver.

--The guy who beat up an elderly woman in Newton has been arrested. 26-year-old Steven Rigby allegedly slammed the woman's head into the door frame of her car. He was rounded up at South Station.

--A student at North Shore Community College has been missing since Tuesday. 19-year-old Starsha Tupper had intended to take a train home to Gloucester, but she didn't make it.
