We're getting a little burnt-out on Mitt Romney because the man seems to be everywhere. But we were curious to find out what happened when Mitt Romney took the big-money types to Fenway Park.
It's surprising that Romney would set foot in Massachusetts, especially since he claimed that he tamed the state in one of his first campaign commercials. But people can't say no to Fenway. And, if they can afford nice tickets, then they can afford to donate, right?
Romney's big-money buddies enjoyed a tour of Fenway and chowed down on some barbecue. Jon Keller pointed out that Romney and the Republicans weren't alone: "Democrats were outside the ballpark handing out flip-flops to highlight Romney's shifting position on various issues."
It's cute that the Dems are giving a Republican the ol' John Kerry treatment. A Team Mitt spokesman tried to blow the whole flip-flop flap off: "As a Republican, you know you're doing something right any time Democrats are attacking you." That sounds like the equivalent of plugging your fingers in your ears and chanting "Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb!"
