384667477_8e88d087f9_m.jpg-- The Boston Police Department's news brief headline summed this one up perfectly with "With Friends Like These...Who Needs Enemies": East Boston guy goes out with his friend on Monday afternoon. Friend goes back to guy's house, breaks through the window and steals some of the guy's toys (iPod, digital camera, PlayStation). When guy confronts friend about the theft, friend smashes guy's digital camera right in front of him. Bostonist says guy needs new friends.

-- Police in Quincy shot and killed a man this morning after responding to a 911 call at a residence. When authorities arrived, the man reportedly confronted them with a knife. The man died at a local hospital, according to a breaking news report from WCVB.

-- Police in the South End watched three people engage Monday evening in what looked an awful lot like a drug deal (the official description is activity "consistent to a drug transaction," which we imagine as either trying to appear casual or looking behind one's back an awful lot). Lo and behold, it was! Arthur Miles and Sudara Herndon, both of Roxbury, were arrested and charged with distribution of Class B Drugs (crack cocaine).

-- The Federal Aviation Administration is revealing today that a plane en route to Logan on Saturday night was targeted by a laser beam located about seven miles southeast of the airport. As the Northwest Airlines flight, originated in Minneapolis, was 4,000-5,000 feet from the ground, pilots reported a strong green light coming into the cockpit. It's the fifth time a laser-related incident has been reported at Logan since 2005. Fortunately, the plane landed safely.

-- Two Massachusetts men were among the three killed by a shooter in New Hampshire yesterday. Jones and store manager James Walker, were pronounced dead at the scene; Jones died at a Portland hospital Monday night. The Herald is reporting that a man is being questioned in connection to the shootings, which launched a massive manhunt on Monday.
