Boston Blotter: Phony Cop Alert

-- A woman driving north on Route 24 early Sunday morning was pulled over by what appeared to be an unmarked police cruiser, complete with a single blue light. When the man, who identified himself as an officer, ordered the woman out of the car, he sexually assaulted her and then took off.

-- Another day, another shooting in Roxbury: police responded to a reported shooting at 9:34 p.m. Sunday night to find a 20-year-old black male seriously injured from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Boston Medical Center and rushed into surgery for what police describe as "life-threatening injuries." He's now in serious but stable condition - police are investigating what occurred and are asking for information from the public.

-- Alex Bonah of Revere reportedly broke into a home in Swampscott on July 4, stole jewelry and about $100 when a neighbor called police. When police arrived, Bonah, 34, led them on pursuit until he tried to climb down a high cliff. He fell and, on Saturday, died from those injuries.
