MittWatch: Money on Mitt's Mind

Former Massachusetts governor and current presidential aspirant Mitt Romney has been pumping his campaign coffers with his own cash since he's fallen short of his fundraising goals.

To rub Romney's nose in it even further, Rudy Giuliani raised more money in the second quarter, $15 million to Romney's $14 million.

The AP reported that Romney wound up giving his own campaign $6.5 million dollars. The money spent might have paid off, as more people know who Romney is now. Then again, that might be due to the ruckus raised by L'Affaire Seamus.

The Globe notes that Romney's fund report reflects "an unusually high 'burn rate'" because Romney has been spending what he's been taking in.

The New York Times also noted two big reasons why Romney might be running low on outside cash - Massachusetts and Utah. Apparently the well is running dry in both those states. Massachusetts is no surprise as voters weren't exactly happy with him when he left town, and Utah might be suffering from Mitt Mormon Fatigue.
