JoJo, you're absolutely right. Political engagement and love of weird culture aren't mutually exclusive. I agree with you! I just wanted to raise a few questions that I've heard elsewhere - not specifically about "Troll 2" but about the energy and money Americans put into pop culture. I definitely didn't want to pick on "Troll 2" - or on anything. Because, really, I loved "Troll 2" as much as you do, and I can't wait to see the documentary.

Dear god, I love that film. I've got a Nilbog t-shirt and everything! I live for the day when the touring Troll 2 cast member circus comes to the UK. The Troll 2 Rifftrax (a comedy commentary with Mike from MST3K and special guest Rich "Lowtax" Kyanka) is well worth the $2 download fee, too.

The best thing about Troll 2 is that it doesn't feature any trolls whatsoever. Not a single one. They're all goblins! And don't even ask what resemblance the plot bears to Troll 1 (hint: none whatsoever).

Not sure about all that stuff about Iraq at the end, however. In a world where Paris Hilton opening her handbag is lead-item news, why are you picking on the ironic totemisation of one particularly bad film? And one can be politically engaged and a fan of superbly bad films too, you know - they aren't mutually exclusive activities.
