Feel the Purple Rain at the Prince Sing-a-Long

The Purple Rain sing-a-long will start at Coolidge Corner tonight, July 20, and tomorrow night, July 21, at midnight.

Wait. That title sounds kinda dirty. But, then again, so is Prince - or The Artist, The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, or whatever he calls himself. The lyrics to "Darling Nikki" could send Tipper Gore into fits, but he's even more scandalous to so-called important people because he gave his latest album away for free.

Plus, the choice of Prince for a sing-a-long is inspired because the guy can emote, and the audience can swing from high-tempo tunes like "Let's Go Crazy" to the more intense "Purple Rain."

It sounds like a great night - but we don't recommend wearing the type of assless chaps that Prince favors. Think first of whoever will be sitting in a theater seat after you.
