Free Screening of Stardust at the Brattle Theatre
Stardust will screen Thursday, July 26, at 9:30 pm at the Brattle Theatre. Passes are free, but you need to pick them up beforehand at the Brattle or Harvard Book Store.
At first glance, Stardust seems way too cute. A man tries to capture a fallen star, who has taken the form of a hot woman that everyone seems to want - either for her hotness or her magical qualities.
But the cast really catches our eye. Claire Danes is the star-turned-woman, and Michelle Pfieffer (who has been away from the big screen for too long) is the rapidly aging and extremely pissy witch who wants to steal Danes' youth for her own. Throw in some classic actors like Robert De Niro and Peter O'Toole and the rising critical favorite Sienna Miller, and this is shaping up to be something special.
Of course, the cast needs something to do with themselves - and that's where the script comes in. Neil Gaiman, called in at least one place a "rock star of the comics world," wrote the original book and contributed to the script.
