Big – Allegedly – Bad Mama

A mother and her brood got top billing on the BPD Blotter and in the Herald. The BPD got more than they bargained for when they headed to Charlestown to check out an unlicensed pit bull. They found plant food and other pot-farm paraphernalia. Here's what else the police found:

A quantity of what is believed to be oxycontin and ecstasy pills, a plastic bag believed to contain PCP, and several unmarked prescription bottles containing pills believed to be Xanax, Klonopin, and Oxycodone. In addition officers recovered two firearms, a bayonet, a double-edged knife, a metal sign saying “DANGER: Many Illegal Activities In Progress Enter At Your Own Risk” and an undisclosed amount of cash.

All they needed was a machete to complete the scene.

Police arrested Elizabeth Awbrey, the very busy mama in question, and her sons, Brent Awbrey and Stephen Awbrey, of Charlestown. (They also picked up some other guy named John Collier – we wouldn't want to leave him out of the fun.) Naturally, the Herald saw a little Ma Barker in Ms. Awbrey. As for us, we'll just say we see some Angie Dickinson.
