--Police have charged a man with kidnapping and murdering a 7-year-old girl in Weymouth overnight. The man kidnapped the girl from a sleepover at her relatives' house.
They pulled over Ryan Bois for driving "erratically." Bois led them on a high-speed chase, and, when they corralled him and the car, the police found the body of a missing girl in the backseat. As of right now, police say Bois is homeless but may have known the family, and he was driving a car that had been stolen from the relatives' house.
--Yesterday afternoon, a man was shot to death near Warren Street and Woodbine Street, by the Roxbury Presbyterian Church. The shooter waited for his victim to arrive and got off four rounds. Police have said the shooter drove away in a gold Ford Contour.
--The woman shot to death yesterday morning was scheduled to be a witness in a murder trial. Danielle Grady was shot nine times. If there is a connection (one source told the Herald there was), then what good is it to help people tip anonymously if they aren't protected when a case goes to trial?
--Two boys living on Cape Cod lost their mother in the Minneapolis bridge collapse last week. Julia Blackhawk was in Minneapolis attending school, and she left her sons, Adaaro Blackhawk and Xavier Blackhawk, with their paternal grandmother in Brewster.
The grandmother, Valerie Redanz, said in an interview, "It's like losing my own daughter." She has already filled out an application to adopt her grandsons.
All charges alleged until proven under law.
