Boston Blotter: Bumper Cars

081107_bumper_cars.JPG--Another winning headline from the mysterious BPD Blotter writer: "Adding Assault to Injury." Early this morning, Latanya Minors allegedly played bumper cars with another car. She struck a car, which had two occupants inside. Then she drove around the block and did it again. Minors wasn't finished - witnesses tried to "confront" her (BPD parlance), upon which she punched them and threw her keys at them. Also on the blotter: a robbery attempt at the Roslindale Post Office, a guy with a stolen car who was easily apprehended because he got stuck in traffic, and a waist-clutcher (BPD parlance) with a lot of pot.

--While volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in Phoenix, Arizona, Bruce Northrup, of Arlington, was robbed and tied up by three thugs. He was robbed in the hotel where he was staying, and one of the robbers tied him up, so Northrup had to wait for the maid to arrive. He had been bound so long that doctors had to amputate part of his left arm. Police are still searching for the robbers.

--The Patriot Ledger has a series trying to figure out why Ryan Bois, previously only a drug addict, raped and killed 6-year-old Joanna Mullin, his own first cousin. The Ledger reports that Bois doesn't fit a sex offender profile, and one psychologist told the paper, "This is beyond pedophilia." A counselor and a criminal justice professor suggested to the paper that Bois may have killed his cousin as a way to exact some type of revenge on his family.
