Boston Blotter: Boat Rage

081307_boat_trip_verdvd.jpg--We've heard of "road rage," but "boat rage"? Apparently that's what happened in Danvers late yesterday afternoon when some alleged bonehead got ticked off and rammed a motorboat with his pontoon boat. Twice. According to the Salem News, the drivers began wrestling each other. The person who got rammed had bite marks on his arm.

Ronald J. Phillips, of Danvers, who allegedly committed the ramming and the biting, is now facing a host of charges: "Attempted murder … assault and battery with a dangerous weapon - a pontoon boat; malicious destruction of property valued at more than $250; simple assault and battery; operating a motorboat negligently on a public waterway; and failing to report a boat accident to law enforcement officers."

--Police netted five women and two men after going on Craigslist and requesting their – ahem – "erotic services." The Globe notes that another Craigslist poster warned others that police were on the lookout, but, if that hadn't happened, police would have found even more people buying or selling said erotic services. In perhaps one of the funniest lines ever on the blotter, a West Bridgewater police sergeant said, "They would have kept going all night." Yes, indeed, they probably would have.

--In Brockton, police found the body of a murder victim close to their own police headquarters. Right now, all they are saying is that the victim was a 20-year-old man who may have been stabbed to death. Another 20-year-old, Laurence Harris, has been arrested for the crime.
